Google has taken aim at the US Department of Justice (DOJ) over speculation the technology giant will be ordered to sell its Chrome web browser business.
Officials are poised to propose the measure in court on Wednesday, Bloomberg reported, after judge Amit Mehta ruled in August that Google operated an online search monopoly.
Google executive Lee-Anne Mulholland in response accused the DOJ of continuing to push a "radical agenda" in the case.
"The government putting its thumb on the scale in these ways would harm consumers, developers and American technological leadership at precisely the moment it is most needed," she added in a statement.
Chrome is the world's most-used web browser, with the reports of its forced sale coming after the DOJ laid out initial proposals for the break-up of Google in October.
Google is also set to be told to establish measures around its artificial intelligence, use of data and Android operating system, according to reports.
Google owner Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) climbed by 1.2% on Tuesday.
