Woman charged after argument at North Royalton school bus stop expected in court

NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio (WOIO) - A 46-year-old North Royalton woman charged with assault after an argument at a school bus stop, is scheduled to be arraigned in Parma Municipal Court Wednesday.

Sara Jones claimed she was the victim during the Nov. 1 encounter at the bus stop located on State Route 82 and Woodcroft Trace.

Jones told North Royalton police that a man who was waiting in his truck for his son to get off the school bus physically assaulted her.

"He said, 'Don't you ever touch my truck,' and then he hit me with his door. He was like, 'I will stab you in the neck,'" said Jones.

But the unidentified man in the truck, along with several witnesses, told police a very different story.

"She just kept trying to hit me and hit my phone," said the man. "I didn't know what she was trying to do."

Jones said she couldn't see when the bus arrived because of the other parent's truck.

"He slapped me this way, he slapped me down like that," Jones told police.

"She came at me like three times, and the last time I said, 'I'm over it. I'm calling the police,'" said the other parent.

Jones went to the North Royalton Police headquarters the next day to sign her ticket and get fingerprinted.

While at the station, video showed Jones challenging and berating the officers, since she was the only person charged.

The unidentified man was not charged, because police said the witnesses backed up his story that he was defending himself.
