A large crowd turned out for the first stop of Senator Bernie Sanders' nationwide tour in Omaha, Nebraska, on Friday, February 21.

At the free event, dubbed "Fighting Oligarchy: Where We Go From Here," Sanders spoke against proposed tax cuts for the rich that would endanger critical government programs such as Medicaid and public education, and expressed support for campaign finance reform, among other topics.

The event hit maximum capacity, according to Sanders' team, and some hopeful attendees reported being turned away after waiting in line.

"Let me thank the more than 3,400 people of Omaha who joined us last night to stand together in the fight against oligarchy and authoritarianism.
