Escape to the Chateau fans say 'I've got goosebumps' after family's announcement - Liverpool Echo

Escape to the Chateau has been confirmed to be returning to screens following an exciting announcement made today (October 19). Escape to the Chateau follows the story of couple Dick and Angel Strawbridge - a couple who left their humble home in the UK to relocate to an abandoned French chateau.

The show first aired on Channel 4 in 2016 after the couple purchased the French castle in 2015. Since then it has gone from being uninhabitable after not being lived in for 40 years, to the 45-room property is now a spectacular home.

The Channel 4 show depicted their life as they use resourcefulness, hard work and innovation to restore the enormous chateau to its former glory while raising two young children and starting a business hosting weddings and other events.

Dick and Angel and their two children, Arthur and Dorothy, have now lived at the property for over a decade and are still putting their stamp on the place. They often share snaps of their stunning gardens on their social media pages and insights into areas of the home that were rarely shown on TV.

However the series halted in 2022 with the conclusion of Series 9.

Fans of the show will be delighted to hear that the Strawbridge family has now announced that the show will be making a comeback for Series 10.

The Strawbridge family announced the return on Facebook earlier today:

They said: "We are delighted to announce that we are officially back in production for Escape to the Chateau, Series 10!

"It's been wonderful welcoming back our Escape filming family -- the unsung heroes behind the cameras.

"Since we first fell in love with the Chateau in 2014, it has taken us on the journey of a lifetime. In 2022, we made the important decision to take a break from filming and concluded Series 9 with the most incredible and magical celebration we could have ever imagined.

"Now, as a family, we've stepped into a new era. With Arthur and Dorothy happily settled into college, Series 10 brings more change and growth than the Chateau has ever seen!

"We promised that when the time was right for our family, we'd invite the cameras back in to give you an update -- and maybe even a Christmas Special... and that time is now!

"Thank you for being part of our story -- we can't wait to share this next magical chapter with you."

Fans were delighted by the news. Dave Eborn commented: ""This is the best news we've read in ages! My wife and I are absolutely thrilled to hear that Escape to the Château is officially back in production.

"Dick & Angel Strawbridges' journey has been a source of inspiration, laughter, and much needed escapism for us over the years.

"Their blend of creativity, resilience, and charm never fails to lift our spirits.

"We can't wait to return to the chateau and see what new adventures, renovations, and rituals unfold. Bring on the next chapter, we'll be watching with wide smiles and a bottle of something bubbly at the ready!"

Eileen Darbon added: "Omg I nearly cried when I read that. Im so happy its one of my favourite all time shows. I was lucky to see the château this year and it was incredible. I had goosebumps."

The couple also urged fans to follow their journey and be the first to hear all the latest news, by signing up for their newsletter.
