Feb. 24 -- BEMIDJI -- Bemidji State men's hockey freshman defenseman Isa Parekh was named the CCHA Defenseman of the Week for his efforts in helping the Beavers to a five-point weekend against Bowling Green.
Parekh of Nobleton, Ontario, earns his second CCHA weekly nod for the second time this season after previously earning the league's Rookie of the Week on Nov. 25.
Parekh helped the Beavers take 5 of 6 points from their weekend series with Bowling Green, dishing out two assists and posting a plus-3 rating. On Friday, he assisted on the game-winning goal in a 3-2 Beavers victory before setting up the tying goal with 11 seconds left in regulation in a 2-1 overtime win on Saturday. For the week, he collected two shots on goal and two blocks defensively.
He was joined by Minnesota State's Josh Groll (Forward) and Alex Tracy (Goaltender) and Michigan Tech's Elias Jansson (Rookie) as the league's weekly award winners for Feb. 24.
