Hacker Mints 120M $YU via Polygon, Moves to Solana, Ethereum

A hacker has recently performed a refined cross-chain exploit on the Polygon network. In this respect, the hacker has minted a staggering 120M $YU tokens on Polygon and laundered them by swapping to Solana and Ethereum. As per the data from the on-chain analytics provider, Lookonchain, after minting $YU tokens, the hackers rapidly offloaded 7.71M for 7.7M $USDC. Additionally, the exploiter leveraged bridging protocols and decentralized exchanges to obfuscate the flow.

Based on the on-chain data, the hacker minted up to 120M $YU tokens on the Polygon network and laundered them via swaps to Solana and Ethereum. Particularly, by offloading 7.71M $YU tokens out of the minted amount, the hacker received 7.7 $USDC. Additionally, the on-chain data also discloses that the hacker still holds up to 22.29M $YU tokens across Solana and Ethereum. At the same time, separate 90M $YU tokens remain untouched on the Polygon network, triggering concerns regarding further dumps.

Following obtaining 7.7M $USDC tokens from the early sale, the exploiter transformed stablecoins into 1,501 $ETH coins and subsequently disseminated funds across diverse wallets. In this respect, the Ethereum address displays a transaction streak, taking into account transfers and swaps that indicate attempts to obscure the funds' origin. In the meantime, a Solana wallet presents a complicated history of token shifts, comprising interactions with several DeFi platforms like Raydium. Apart from that, the Solana transfer log displays actions like "TRANSFER," "BUY," "MINT," and "SELL" involving $OFTU and $USDC tokens.

Interestingly, the wallet of the hacker obtained 5 separate transactions of up to 30,000 $OFTU from null addresses, reaching a total of 150,000 $OFTU. According to Lookonchain, the minting of 120M $YU on Polygon and subsequent laundering raises concerns about the cross-chain security infrastructure. The hacker leveraged the vulnerabilities in this infrastructure to exploit massive funds while still holding 90M $YU tokens on Polygon. Hence, amid the investigation into this matter, the crypto community is keenly watching for the hacker's further moves.
