In case you missed it, the Green Bay Packers spent their Thanksgiving night battling the Miami Dolphins at a snowy Lambeau Field. There were a lot of stand-out performances from the 30-17 win including RB Josh Jacobs who racked up over 100 all-purpose yards and a touchdown. They also had a big stand from their defense, an early special teams turnover, and QB Jordan Love played arguably his most complete game of the season.
Love finished the game completing 75% of passes while throwing for 274 yards, 2 TDs, and 0 INTs, and his 129.2 passer rating was his highest of the season. It is a good sign Love is finally healthy and settling in while the Toyotathon theory spreads even further with ESPN analyst Mina Kimes even buying in.
But fans weren't the only ones who were impressed, so was Packers head coach Matt LaFleur. In a video NFL Films shared on social media, the coach was hyped up on the sidelines during some big plays from the Thanksgiving tussle. In one clip he's shown letting out a loud "Oh, yeah!" after Jacobs' ankle-breaking 40-yard reception run.
Matt LaFleur seemed particularly impressed by Jordan Love's perfectly placed 3-yard touchdown pass to Jayden Reed on the boundary early in the 1st quarter. "What a throw!" LaFleur exclaimed in awe. "I cannot believe he made that throw. That was such a baller a** throw."
The Packers have been playing some fun football the last few weeks as the offense finally started to hit its stride. Let's hope that continues tonight as the Packers travel to Motor City to take on the depleted Detroit Lions in a massive divisional match-up on Thursday Night Football.
