Shedeur Sanders sends a strong message to Kevin Stefanski on Instagram; relationship reportedly broken

NFL. Myles Garrett gets reminded he chose the money and wasted his chance to leave the Browns

Shedeur Sanders' short NFL career - which hasn't even included a regular-season debut - has been nothing short of a nightmare. The son of Deion Sanders expected to be a first-round pick and a Week 1 starting quarterback. However, none of that happened, and today his situation looks more like a horror story than a dream come true.

Sanders was projected by most analysts and mock drafts to be selected in the first round, as the second quarterback off the board behind Cam Ward. But things took a turn for the worse when five quarterbacks were chosen before him, and his name finally appeared in the fifth round when the Cleveland Browns selected him with the 144th overall pick.

He entered training camp as the fourth quarterback on the depth chart and is currently a backup. However, he wasn't active for the Browns' most recent game due to a back injury diagnosed the day before their matchup against the New England Patriots.

The situation with Dillon Gabriel has become unsustainable, and both fans and analysts are completely disappointed with what the third-round pick has shown. Since taking over as starter in Week 5, Gabriel's performances have been dreadful - aside from a decent debut against the Vikings - and he's failed to show real progress.

Sanders recently liked an Instagram post from a fan account calling for him to start in the Browns' next game against the New York Jets. The Browns are currently on their bye week, and many fans hoped head coach Kevin Stefanski would use this time to prepare Sanders - but that doesn't seem likely.

In the last game against the Patriots, Gabriel threw two costly interceptions, reigniting social media pressure for Stefanski to bench him and finally give Sanders the opportunity he's been waiting for. Gabriel holds a 1-3 record as a starter, and the lone win came largely due to factors beyond his own play.

Despite another disastrous performance from Gabriel, head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that the former Oregon Ducks quarterback will remain the starter for the Browns' next game. That means Shedeur Sanders will once again have to wait for his moment.
