SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Blood Bank is celebrating its 75th anniversary by honoring a volunteer who donated one hundred seventy gallons of blood. In this Zevely Zone, I met a blood bank hero. The non-profit organization is shining a light on Jim Walker. When his pregnant wife found out she was anemic and needed blood, Jim quickly became a blood donor. That was in 1968. Since then, he has donated blood at least once every eight weeks for decades.
