Sonam took a long break from films after she was last seen in The Zoya Factor in 2020.
Actress Sonam Kapoor had taken a sabbatical from films few years ago to focus on her family, especially after her son Vayu was born. In a recent interview Sonam has hinted at resuming acting after the long break.
Speaking to Times of India, Sonam shed light on how she navigated the past few years of her life. "I became a mother and wanted to give it as much time as possible - so that I could witness the process of seeing my son grow up. I wanted to enjoy the feeling of being a mother and it has been the most rewarding experience of my life."
Confirming her return to acting, the Veere Di Wedding actress said, "Now, I will be back to doing what I love doing - acting. I'm being drawn to disruptive subjects that allow me to shine. I have always tried to pick projects with the girl at the heart of the story and that vision hasn't changed. I want to do projects where the role of the woman is layered and not unidimensional. I'm excited to come back in front of the camera and my first project post-pregnancy will roll out in the last quarter of 2025."
Sonam made her Bollywood debut with the film Saawariya by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 2007 and appeared in several films following that, such as Bewakoofiyan, Veere Di Wedding, Khoobsurat, The Zoya Factor, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and more.
However, Sonam took a long break from films after she was last seen in The Zoya Factor in 2020. Sonam gave birth to son Vayu in 2022, four years after her dreamy wedding with longtime partner Anand Ahuja in 2018.
