While getting super candid in a new interview with 'Call Her Daddy' host Alex Cooper, Trinity Rodman, an Olympic champion, talked about her career as a professional soccer player and about the current status of her relationship with her NBA Hall of Famer father Dennis Rodman. In the hour-long sit-down, Trinity reflected on the time her father made a surprise appearance at a game of hers back in November 2021.

At the time, a handful of headlines were surfacing, which even resulted in Trinity releasing a full statement about her father's appearance on Instagram. In the post, Trinity Rodman shared an image of her NBA Hall of Famer father, Dennis Rodman, embracing her.

She captioned the post, "This last game was an extremely emotional one. Yes, Dennis Rodman showed up to an NWSL [National Women's Soccer League] game. But also, my dad, after YEARS, surprised me at a big game in my career. I was shocked, overwhelmed, happy, sad, everything."

Trinity continued, "My dad doesn't play a big role in my life at all and most people don't know that. We don't see eye to eye on many things. I go months, if not years, without his presence or communication. Being in spotlights has been hard for us; him and me. We don't have the best relationship, but at the end of the day, he's human, I'm human... he's my dad, and I'm his little girl. That will never change. I will improve and look forward every day, as I hope he does."

On Wednesday (December 18), Trinity Rodman's 'Call Her Daddy' interview was published and in it, she opened up about her strained relationship with her father, NBA Hall of Famer, Dennis Rodman, whom she says is an "alcoholic" that hasn't always been a dad to her.

While reflecting on the November 2021 game and the famed basketball player surprisingly popping up, Trinity says she was initially "so mad" and that she nor her mother, Michelle Moyer, knew he was coming. She said, "I'm already shi**ing my pants as it is. I'm stressed, like, oh my gosh, we have to win. We go, I'm playing. I think it's, like, halfway through the first half and I hear [his voice]."

Trinity said after her game, her father caught up with her, which is when the photos of their warm and emotional embrace took place. She said that during their moment, her father told her he would be seeing her "soon." However, she now claims that never happened. She said, "After that, radio silence. I didn't see him until this year. I didn't talk to him or see him until, I think, right after the World Cup."

Later in the conversation about her NBA Hall of Famer father Dennis Rodman, Trinity Rodman elaborated more on their strained relationship, noting that some of the distance between them was due to his alcoholism. While reflecting on a time when she wished her mother a happy Father's Day due to her playing both parental roles, Trinity compared her experience with her father with the public's.

Trinity said, "That's not disrespect. He's not a dad. He's a person, but he's not a dad. Maybe by blood, nothing else." She also said that whenever she talks to her father it always ends up with her feeling deep and complicated emotions, noting "It f**ks me up every single time." She added, "I think now, hearing his voice is painful. I think it's missing him mixed with he's an alcoholic. And again, that's something that I don't wanna say but I'm just, like, f**k it. It's just the truth. And hearing, even the past five years, the difference in the way that his sentences go together, it feels like he's gone."
