WINTERHAVEN -- Deputy Contreras responded to a welfare check on San Pascual Rd. and Picacho Rd. on Monday, Nov. 17. The reporting party advised that an elderly man, possibly in his seventies, was walking on the side of the road without adequate clothing and appeared to be lost.

The reporting party said the man was possibly in need of medical aid. The reporting party was standing by with the subject in a gray Ford Explorer.

A neighbor who lived near the elderly man advised authorities that the man may not have taken his medication. Police contacted the man's friend, who rents his residence, who agreed to take care of the subject and bring him back home. The subject said he went out to get water and forgot his way back home. Police took a report of the incident.

Harassment

SEELEY -- Deputy Cotero responded to a report of harassment at Seeley Elementary on Monday, Nov. 17. The reporting party advised that a woman in a small, dark gray vehicle was yelling at a student that morning.

According to the reporting party, the student was an 11-year old juvenile, and the disturbances have been an ongoing issue. The reporting party said that the gate monitor had to yell at the woman to get her to leave the student alone. Deputy Cotero spoke to the woman and advised her not to go to the school anymore.

Identity Theft

THERMAL -- Deputy Rosas responded to a report of identity theft on Red Sea Ave. on Monday, Nov. 17. The reporting party requested a report for fraud documentation and said she provided her social security information to an unknown subject via Facebook on Nov. 14.

The subject contacted her bank and was referred to social security to avoid further fraud. The subject did not send money to the unknown subject. Police advised the subject to report the incident to Facebook.

Petty Theft

SALTON CITY -- Deputy Noah responded to a report of petty theft on Tuesday, Nov. 18. The Salton City District requested a report for theft of over $2,000 by an employee on a city credit card.

Deputy Noah spoke with the reporting party regarding information from a financial audit. A confirmed crime of theft is pending the receipt of further documents from the bank and retail store. The reporting party will contact police again at a later date if confirmed theft is documented.

Petty Theft

EL CENTRO -- Deputy Kawtharni responded to a report of petty theft on E. Villa Rd. Wednesday, Nov. 19. The reporting party advised that two Hispanic male subjects in a blue Mini Cooper drove up to a mailbox and took the mail, then left at approximately 6:15 a.m. According to the reporting party, the mail theft is an ongoing issue.

The reporting party confirmed that there was a suspicious vehicle going through her neighborhood looking through mailboxes, but it is unknown if any mail was stolen. The reporting party said she would contact her neighbors and call back if their mail was taken as well. Per the police logs, the night shift will be advised to conduct patrol checks around the area.
