The New York Jets are in the market for a new head coach and there have been plenty of connections to one person: Mike Vrabel.
While early in the process... with not reported interviews yet to take place, Vrabel's name has come up multiple times in terms of potential candidates the Jets could be interested in.
First to note New York's interest in the former Tennessee Titans head coach was SportsNet New York, which states Vrabel is at the top of the wish list:
In addition, ESPN followed up with a similar note.
Vrabel was said to be "in the mix" for the vacant head coaching position in New York. In addition, both Detroit Lions coordinators in OC Ben Johnson and former Jet and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn could be on the radar.
It's early and plenty of updates are to come... but with the way the season has gone, interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich looks unlikely to earn the job.
ESPN's full report can be found below:
In six seasons as the Titans head coach, Vrabel had a 54-45 record. Of those, he had four winning records. In 2019, Tennessee advanced to the AFC Championship game but lost in his best season at the helm.
Jets Wire will provide all of those when information is made available in the coming weeks.
