SALT LAKE CITY - Bronny James reunited with his former high school teammate JoJo Phillips and gifted the BYU wide receiver his jersey after a career night in Utah.
James scored a career-high nine points in eight minutes for the Los Angeles Lakers on 3-4 shooting including 2-3 from the three-point line.
The Lakers fell to the Jazz 131-119 in their final game before the All-Star break.

After James's breakout performance against the Jazz, the Lakers rookie gave his game-worn jersey to Phillips who was at the game with several BYU teammates.
BYU Sports Nation's Jarom Jordan shared a photo of the signed jersey on social media.
"To my guy JoJo!," James wrote on the jersey. "Keep going my boy!!"
James and Phillips were teammates on the Sierra Canyon basketball team before the wide receiver committed to play football at BYU.
Phillips has recorded 11 catches for 216 yards and three touchdowns in two seasons for the Cougars.
James went on to play basketball at USC before being selected by the Lakers in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft.
