Many guests attended in cosplay as some of their favorite "Goofy Movie" characters, including Powerline, Stacey, Max, and Goofy.
As a surprise, the film was preceded by a visit from Bill Farmer (the voice of Goofy), Kevin Lima (director of "A Goofy Movie," "Tarzan," and "Enchanted"), and Jason Marsden (voice of Max) (all pictured from left below), as well as Goofy and Max themselves.
Farmer especially wore the same leather jacket he donned at the film's 1995 premiere.
Also preceding the movie screening was "A Goofy Trivia." All guests received a goodie bag including but not limited to a glow stick, Lester's Possum Park pendant, and a map with stickers to participate in special crowd moments throughout the movie screening. The movie culminated with a giant, auditorium-wide dance party as Powerline's "I2I" song blasted through the speakers.
The "Goofy Movie" event served as a precursor to Destination D23, a jam-packed convention happening at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort from Aug. 29-31. There will be no "parks panel" of theme park news as in years past; a handful of panels will be livestreamed for D23 gold members.
Stay tuned to Attractions Magazine for ongoing Destination D23 coverage all weekend, plus daily coverage of theme park news, trip reports from parks around the world, and exclusive interviews.
