Congratulations to this week's Scholar Athlete of the Week - Andrew DeMatos

Andrew DeMatos is a high-achieving senior at TC Roberson High School with a remarkable academic record, maintaining a 4.64 GPA and ranking 8th in his class. He has earned straight A's and won the AP Government Mock Presidential competition. Outside the classroom, Andrew is a four-time All-State saxophone player and performs in a blues band called Virginia and the Slims. He is also a dedicated athlete, serving as captain for both his high school and club lacrosse teams, and earning multiple all-conference honors along with the title of Offensive MVP. His leadership extends into the community through his Eagle Scout service, National Honor Society volunteering, and bilingual school ambassador role. Notably, he constructed a 20-foot lacrosse wall ball for his team. Andrew is uncommitted to a college but continues to explore new interests, including diving, which he plans to begin this winter.

Andrew is in the running to win a $5,000 scholarship from Arby's to the college or university he plans to attend!
