As more details leak out about the break-ins at the homes of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce last month, it turns out they may actually be connected to other high-profile burglaries.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley Jr. had his Medina, Minnesota, home broken into back in mid-September, and Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis had his house burglarized in early November.
Police in River Hills, Wisconsin, believe the incidents could all possibly be linked because they share "striking similarities," according to WISN 12.
River Hills police chief Michael Gaynor said he's been in contact with police departments in both Minnesota and Kansas, Missouri, as well as with the FBI to determine if there is evidence to corroborate the theory.
The burglary at Portis' home happened around 7 p.m. on Nov 4 as he and the Bucks were playing against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the one at Conley Jr.'s house happened while he was attending a Minnesota Vikings games.
The break-in at Kelce's residence also occurred around the time he was playing the New Orleans Saints on "Monday Night Football" on Oct. 7. The U.S. Sun reported that $100,000 in jewelry, and Kelce's first Super Bowl jersey were stolen, while TMZ reported $20,000 in cash was also taken.
The Sun also reported that jerseys belonging to Mahomes plus jewelry and designer bags belonging to his wife Brittany were stolen from the break-in at their place.
Conley Jr. reportedly had jewelry stolen from his place as well, and Portis claims the robbers stole most of his prized possessions, though he didn't clarify what they were.
Portis actually shared video footage of two men breaking into his residence, though it doesn't seem to have led to any suspects. All reports indicate there are no suspects or persons of interest yet in any of the cases, but police have been adamant on pursuing all leads.
