A 55-year-old man was found motionless in a cave while searching for treasure in Düzova Village, located in the Cizre district of Şırnak, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Excavation materials were found inside the cave, and it is suspected that the individual may have died from gas poisoning from a generator.

A 55-year-old man, found motionless in a cave in the village of Düzova, located in the Cizre district of Şırnak, was determined to have passed away during the examination conducted by the teams.

According to the information obtained, after a report was made to the 112 Emergency Call Center about a motionless individual inside the cave, AFAD, Gendarmerie, Fire Brigade, and Health teams were quickly dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, security measures were taken at the cave entrance, and CBRN measurements were conducted.

Initial assessments revealed that excavation materials such as a generator, pickaxe, and shovel were found inside the cave, and it was estimated that the individual may have been dead for several days. Teams are considering the possibility that the individual was poisoned by gas leaking from the generator.

With the instruction of the public prosecutor, investigations for the crime scene and identification were initiated. After the gas measurements were completed, the body was removed by the teams.

Investigations regarding the incident are ongoing.
