(WJAR) -- Pawtucket held its Memorial Day ceremony at Veterans Park on Monday.

The event, which was in partnership with Pawtucket Veterans Council, honored the service members who gave their lives in defense of our country, city officials said.

"We are proud to continue this important tradition alongside the Pawtucket Veterans Council," said Mayor Donald Grebien. "Each year, this ceremony remembers the profound sacrifices made by our armed service members, and the responsibility we share to honor their memory"

The ceremony included remarks from local officials, veterans, community leaders and ceremonial honors.
