Mahadangal: Who Will Lead Nepal Now? Youth Say 'No More Old Guard' | ABP NEWS

Nepal is witnessing one of the most intense political uprisings in its recent history. What began as protests against a nationwide social media ban has now turned into a full-scale youth-led revolution, plunging the country into violence and uncertainty. The demonstrations escalated quickly, with thousands of protesters storming key government institutions including the Parliament, Supreme Court, and Presidential Palace. Fires were reported inside Parliament, and homes of several ministers and MPs were set ablaze. At least 23 people have lost their lives in the violence so far. Former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife, Nepal's current Foreign Minister, were attacked at their residence. Both suffered serious injuries. As chaos spread across the country, Prime Minister KP Oli was forced to resign. The military escorted him to a secure, undisclosed location, amid speculation he may flee abroad. Despite the resignation and the removal of the social media ban, unrest continues. Protesters are now demanding that Balansa take over leadership, signaling a complete rejection of the current political elite. Nepal stands at a historic turning point, with a youth-driven movement challenging the old order and demanding sweeping change.
