Myles Garrett is not involving himself in his team's latest decision on football's most impertant position.
On Sunday, after the Cleveland Browns lost 27-20 at the New York Jets, Kevin Stefanski announced that Dillon Gabriel would remain their main quarterback over fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders despite having covered over 200 passing yards just once in six starts:
"We're going to stick with Dillon. Obviously, young players that you're always trying to get one game better."
That has understandably led to much condemnation, but Garrett refused to take a side when asked about it during his post-game presser:
"Quarterback direction has nothing to do with me. I am worried about the defense and us giving up the points we did and the first downs that we did. Who we stick with at quarterback is up to Kevin."
The Browns' defense managed to limit the Jets' offense to just 169 total yards and 12 first downs. Justin Fields in particular, could cover only 54 yards on six completions, and was also intercepted one despite scoring a touchdown.
However, the Jets got a very strong performance from special teams. They scored a touchdown each on a kickoff return and a punt return - both in succession in the first quarter, while veteran Nick Folk went perfect on all his kicks, including two field goals.

Despite the nature of Sunday's loss, Myles Garrett still believes the Browns are capable of fighting for a playoff spot. In the same media availability, he said:
"I'm going to make sure there's no quit in this team. I haven't seen it before and it's not going to happen now. I'm going to make sure everybody mans up and still knows exactly what the directive is."
He continued:
"There's still an opportunity, there's still a chance. We still have, what, eight more games? You never know what could happen."
The Browns next host the Ravens next Sunday. Kickoff is at 4:25 pm ET on CBS.
