Get your passport and suitcase ready because you're in for another rambunctious trip when "The White Lotus" returns in a couple months.
The critically acclaimed series created, written and directed by Mike White released the first full trailer for its third season on Monday. As has been seen in the past, this vacation, featuring new travelers and a returning face, is going to be anything but relaxing.
The first installment of the show, which premiered July 2021, was set in Hawaii and received 20 Emmy nominations and 10 wins, the most wins of any program that year, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. The second season, which premiered in December 2022, was set in Sicily and garnered 23 Emmy nominations and five wins.
The third season of the critically acclaimed series will premiere Feb. 16, 2025.
How to watch 'The White Lotus' season 3?
"The White Lotus" can be watched on HBO every Sunday and will be available to stream on Max. A press release states there will be eight episodes this season, the longest yet (the first had six episodes, while the second had seven episodes).
Who's in 'The White Lotus' season 3 cast?
Each season, the cast gets bigger and better, and it looks like season three will be no exception. Some of the actors this season include Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Lalisa Manobal, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola, Lek Patravadi, Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tayme Thapthimthong and Aimee Lou Wood.
Fans of the show will also recognize one familiar face from "The White Lotus" universe. Natasha Rothwell, who played spa manager Belinda Lindsey at the Maui hotel in season one, is returning for season three. In the trailer, she notes that she's visiting the resort for an exchange program and she believes "something good is going to come out of this." Many people will be rooting for especially, especially after Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge), a wealthy heiress, agreed to fund Belinda's wellness business, only to abandon her by the end of season one.
Who is Aimee Lou Wood?
Wood, one of the stars of the upcoming season, is an actress and writer best known for her work on the TV series "Sex Education" and for costarring alongside Bill Nighy in the movie "Living."
What is 'The White Lotus' season 3 about?
"The White Lotus" is an anthology series, which means each season features a new storyline and group of actors. Overall, however, the series follows wealthy, and often obnoxious, vacationers who get into a bunch of trouble during their stays.
Season three is set at an exclusive Thai resort and will highlight the exploits of various guests and employees over the span of a week, according to a press release. Some of the storylines include three long-time friends (Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon and Michelle Monaghan) on a girls' trip after not having seen each other for a while; a rugged man (Walton Goggins) with a chip on his shoulder, traveling with his girlfriend Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood); a wealthy businessman (Jason Isaacs) vacationing with his wife (Parker Posey) and three children (Sam Nivola, Sarah Catherine Hook and Patrick Schwarzenegger); and White Lotus employees (Lalisa Manobal, Lek Patravadi and Tayme Thapthimthong).
Based on the trailer, there is plenty of trouble in paradise. Friends are turning on one another, guests are noticing "something is off" at the resort, police are seen arriving at one point, and Wood's character says she almost died, but at least she got the room comped. Simply put, there's a whole lot of mess in store for viewers.
Will Tanya return for season three of 'The White Lotus'?
Coolidge's character Tanya became a fan favorite during the first two seasons of the show (she was the only character to return for both) due to her over-the-top, self-absorbed, clueless personality. Coolidge won two Emmy Awards for her role, along with a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and two Critics Choice Awards.
Unfortunately, Tanya will not be returning for season three, as she, in hilarious fashion, fell to her death in the Ionian Sea.
