Official | Eintracht Frankfurt sign Galatasaray striker Michy Batshuayi

Despite some reports that negotiations over the deal were not proceeding well, Eintracht Frankfurt have closed a blockbuster deal to bring Michy Batshuayi back to the Bundesliga. The one-time Borussia Dortmund loanee joins the die Adler on loan from Galatasaray on - surprisingly enough - a permanent deal.

The Belgian journeyman signed a two-and-a-half year contract that should keep him in Germany until 2027. Batshuayi scored nine goals in 14 competitive appearances whilst on loan at BVB from Chelsea during the second half of the 2017/18 campaign. During that stint, he enjoyed immense popularity among German football lovers.

The 31-year-old's diverse career odyssey continues. Batshuayi has scored goals in Belgium, France, England, Spain, and Turkey as well. Frankfurt now find themselves ideally positioned to make a play for the Champions League this year after Batshuayi and French talent Elye Wahi arrived to replace the departed Omar Marmoush.

Kicker reports a base-transfer fee of €2m while Sky Germany and others cite a €3m figure. In any event, the prolific striker was welcomed with great fanfare at his new Bundesliga club precisely 31 minutes after the transfer deadline officially closed in Germany.
