JACKSON COUNTY, MI - Joann Fabrics and Crafts recently announced plans to close all of its locations this year.
People can still shop at craft chains such as Hobby Lobby, 1355 Boardman Road, and Michaels, 1525 Boardman Road, in Jackson, but there are also a variety of local shops for fabric, thread, and other craft supplies

Purple Bobbin Quilt Shop
Purple Bobbin Quilt Shop is a locally owned quilt shop based at 803 S. Brown St. in Jackson.
The store features a wide selection of fabric, patterns, tools, books, and notions. They also offer sewing and gift items, according to its Facebook page.

Quilts at the Marshall House
Quilts at the Marshall House, 100 Exchange St. in Marshall, is a large store dedicated to helping customers choose the best combination of fabrics for their project, according to its website.
The store offers over 4,000 bolts of quilting fabric, according to the website. Classes about hand and machine quilting are sometimes offered as well.

Kean's Store Co., an old-fashioned variety store located at 406 S. Jefferson St. in downtown Mason, has been open since 1928, according to its website.
