Varmilo, a keyboard manufacturer, is launching a unique peripheral for PC gamers: a foot-controlled keyboard. These "Foot Keyboards" aim to expand control options beyond customary hands-based input, offering potential advantages in various game genres. The keyboards feature Cherry MX Silent Black switches and a 3D-printed base designed for cozy foot operation.
The Foot Keyboard consists of a base with Cherry MX Silent Black switches,activated by pressing down with the big toe and pinkie toe. Models range from three to four buttons, offering a limited but potentially strategic set of inputs. It connects to the PC via wired, Bluetooth, or 2.4GHz connections, boasting a 1,000Hz polling rate and a response time of 10ms or less.
Varmilo designed the base with a raised section to support the foot arch, aiming for comfort during extended use.the 25mm diameter ABS keycaps are positioned for easy access with the toes, and the device is intended to be used barefoot or with socks.
