LeBron's Foot Injury May Take Him Out Of Sunday Game - MyNewsLA.com

LeBron James is questionable for Sunday evening's game against the Memphis Grizzlies at Crypto.com Arena due to what the Lakers are calling "left foot injury management" after missing the previous two games because of left foot soreness.

The Lakers split the two games James missed, defeating the Portland Trail Blazers, 107-98, last Sunday at Crypto.com Arena, and losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves, 97-87, Friday in Minneapolis.

James is 44 minutes away from breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's career record for most minutes played, 57,446.

The Lakers (13-12) have lost four of their last five games. They are 10th in the Western Conference, thanks to holding the tiebreaker advantage over the San Antonio Spurs, and would play in the Play-in Tournament for the third consecutive season and fourth time in five seasons if the season ended Sunday.

This will be the third of four games between the teams this season. The home team has won both of the two previous meetings.

Memphis (18-8) is second in the Western Conference, 2 1/2 games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Grizzlies have won four consecutive games.

Memphis' roster includes three former Lakers -- center Colin Castleton played 16 games for the Lakers during the 2023-24 season, guard Scotty Pippen Jr. six during the 2022-23 season and center Jay Huff four during the 2021-22 season.

Oddsmakers have made the Grizzlies a 3 1/2- to 4 1/2-point favorite. ESPN's matchup predictor give Memphis a 73% chance of winning, the Lakers a 27% chance.

The 6:30 p.m. game will be televised by Spectrum SportsNet.
