Those are the schools that finish the regular season atop Class 4A and 3A, respectively, in boys' basketball. The Iowa High School Athletic Association released their final rankings for the state's two largest classes Monday afternoon.

Cedar Falls (19-2) is followed by Mississippi Valley Conference mate Linn-Mar (19-2) at No. 2 in 4A. Then it's two-time defending champion West Des Moines Valley (18-3), Waukee Northwest (19-3) and Cedar Rapids Kennedy (18-4) rounding out the top five.

The bottom five is Ames, Waukee, Cedar Rapids Prairie, Dubuque Senior and Muscatine. The latter is a new entry this week.

Prairie (18-4) moved up a spot after a productive week that included a two-point win at Senior, which clinched a share of the Mississippi Division championship in the Mississippi Valley Conference, with CF.

Senior (15-6) dropped three spots to ninth after three losses last week: to Cedar Falls, Prairie and Valley. The Rams enter the postseason with a four-game losing streak.

Clear Lake (21-0) ran the regular-season table. The Lions are followed in the top five by Decorah (20-1), Knoxville (21-0), Huxley Ballard (18-2) and Storm Lake (19-1).

Clear Creek Amana (18-4), which ended the regular season on an 11-game win streak, remained 10th.

All 3A teams around the state began substate play Monday night. There also were a smattering of first-round substate games in 4A, though the entire top 10 have a first-round bye.

Here are this week's final rankings, with team record and last week's ranking in parentheses.
