Netflix subscribers were eagerly awaiting the release of the new docuseries American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden, but the March 10 premiere didn't happen, leaving many questioning the reason for the delay and when it will be available to stream.
Following 2025's American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson and 2023's Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing, the latest installment in the Manhunt franchise, directed by Mor Loushy and Daniel Siva, centers on the search for Islamic extremist Osama bin Laden.
The new three-part docuseries offers an in-depth look at how the world "mobilized to hunt down bin Laden, founder of the militant Islamist organization al-Qaida, after his orchestration of the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States," according to the official synopsis. Featuring interviews with key U.S. government figures, including the CIA, the series chronicles the decade-long mission to capture one of the world's most infamous terrorists.
In February, Netflix confirmed the March 10 release date in a now-deleted post on X, stating, "Power. Terror. Legacy. The true story revealed. American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden premieres March 10." However, when viewers searched for the docuseries on Netflix on Monday, it was listed as "coming soon."
American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden was originally scheduled to premiere on March 10, 2025, but the docuseries didn't debut as planned. In a March 11 email, Netflix confirmed the release date was changed due to a "scheduling shift."
A new release date for American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden has yet to be announced. In an email, Netflix said they will provide an update once a new date is set.
In response to the unexpected delay, some Netflix subscribers turned to X to voice their frustration.
"I have canceled my @Netflix subscription. This is the last time Netflix lies about releasing a show for me. American Manhunt Osama Bin Laden was supposes to be my binge show for the day," one user wrote.
Another X user tweeted, "You know what I hate? When you pay for something and you don't get what you pay for. @netflix has raised prices which has forced me to now downgrade and put up with ads. Yesterday, they were supposed to release a documentary on Odama Bin Laden, but it's not on there."
"@netflix why did you tease American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden for months to be released today and not release it without any reason or update?" added another user.
