Statement issued by the chief adviser was shared this morning
The government has called for special prayers across the country tomorrow after Juma prayers for the speedy recovery of BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
The statement, issued this morning by Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, said the government has requested that prayers be offered at all mosques nationwide after Juma prayer, seeking the swift recovery of the three-time former prime minister.
Worshippers at temples, churches, pagodas and other places of worship have similarly been urged to hold prayers in line with their respective religious traditions.
The government also requested people from all walks of life to pray individually for Khaleda Zia's recovery.
The BNP chief was admitted to the hospital on November 23 on the advice of her medical board after being diagnosed with infections affecting her heart and lungs.
The 80-year-old veteran politician is also suffering from pneumonia and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital's Coronary Care Unit.
