FARGO -- Scooter's Coffee is nearly ready for you to scoot into the drive-through lane of its new north Fargo location.
The caffeinated kiosk at 1350 21st Ave. N. is on track to be fully open Monday, Nov. 18, franchise owners said.
It will be the second Scooter's in Fargo for Kelly Davis, her husband, Tom, and son, Zachary.
"(We're) just really excited to get it open. There's been some challenges," Zachary Davis, the director of operations for the family-owned franchise group, said Tuesday, Nov. 12.
Scooter's is north of the Fargodome near Vision Bank.
The family opened its first Scooter's Coffee in Fargo in February 2022 on the city's southwest side at 3610 Veterans Boulevard S.
"I know that our other store is doing really good business. So, I think that we're really catching on," Kelly Davis said. "I know the people in Fargo like us. I've had people tell me they drive 8 miles out of the way to come to Scooters, because it's their favorite place to get coffee."
Kelly Davis said more locations are planned for the area.
"We're actively looking for more stores to open in Fargo. We have a five-store development deal with Scooters," Kelly Davis said. "We're looking at the smaller towns around Fargo. So, we'll have at least three more locations in the Fargo and Moorhead, Minnesota area."
The Scooter's Coffee network includes more than 825 stores in 30 states, according to a blog post on the company's website.
Scooter's Coffee began in 1998 as Scooter's Java Express by Don and Linda Eckles in Bellevue, Nebraska.
By 2001, there were five drive-through outlets and the Eckles settled on a franchise model to meet demand. The company's name changed to Scooter's Coffeehouse in 2005, then again in 2011 to Scooter's Coffee.
