Strictly fans' fears as fourth star's injury 'exposed' ahead of show change - The Mirror

Strictly Come Dancing fans are concerned after it emerged that Alex Kingston danced through a "dislocated rib" during this weekend's Blackpool show.

The current series of the BBC ballroom competition has already seen many celebrity exits, with Dani Dyer and Stefan Dennis having to bow out, followed by La Voix. It has now been revealed that former Doctor Who actress Alex has also been battling an injury.

The star and her professional partner Johannes Radebe wowed the audience with their couple's choice routine at the Tower Ballroom on Saturday (November 22), but Alex's daughter Salome Violetta Haertel later revealed that her mum was injured.

She took to social media to share a snap of the pair in action, writing: "So so proud!!! Slayed on the dancefloor, dislocated rib and all!!!"

Despite the injury, the duo managed to bag a whopping 35 out of a possible 40 points from the judges, reports Wales Online.

Former Love Island star Dani Dyer had to pull out of the competition after the launch show due to an ankle injury. Neighbours star Stefan Dennis, 67, had to leave the contest in October after tearing a calf muscle. Then La Voix departed this weekend.

The RuPaul's Drag Race UK star was sitting out the Blackpool shows after suffering a "bone bruise" on her foot. But as Saturday's programme got under way, host Tess Daly announced that La Voix had quit the BBC competition altogether.

It was then announced that, with La Voix having to withdraw, no celebrity would be eliminated this week.

Viewers are now concerned that Alex's injury will hamper her chances on the dancefloor.

"Worried about Alex and this injury," one person posted on X, which was formerly Twitter.

Another wrote: "Alex Kingston is my favourite this series. I'll be so sad if she is forced to withdraw."

"Is that tape on her ribs???? My poor baby, God please don't let this bs ruin Alex's dream," said someone else.

The six remaining pairs in the competition will all advance to the live show on Saturday, November 29.

Points from the four judges alongside public votes will be carried forward and merged with next week's scores and votes.
