CHAMPAIGN -- No one was hurt in a small fire Wednesday morning in downtown Champaign building.
Champaign Fire Department spokesman Randy Smith said a passer-by reported the fire at 10:48 a.m. Initial reports put it in a building in the 200 block of South Market Street, but firefighters who arrived found light smoke coming from a building in the 300 block.
Smith said they deployed a single hose line and quickly put out the fire in the single-story commercial building.
The investigation is ongoing, and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
No firefighter injuries were reported.
