The recall applies to plastic packages of Fresh Taste Produce broccoli florets that were were distributed in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec, Canada.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced the regional recall of a specific vegetable.
"This recall was triggered by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's inspection activities," the CFIA said. "There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product."
The recall applies to plastic packages of broccoli florets with a Nov. 26, 2025, best buy date, and were distributed in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec.
The UPC is 6 27735 27054 8.
People who contract Salmonella are not guaranteed to become sick, according to the Public Health Agency of Canada. Symptoms, which are wide-ranging, can include chills, fever, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach cramps, or sudden headaches.
"We were implicated in the recall because listeria was found in Delmar's 35-pound bulk cases from the same lot code used by FreshRealm another manufacturer," Sno Pac's Peter Gengler told NTD. "What surprises me is this spinach was tested every two hours during production and tested negative."
The recalled spinach was distributed nationwide in U.S. retail stores and through distributors.
"Listeria is an elusive pathogen and proper kill step blanching and rigorous environmental control and monitoring is key to avoiding issues," Gengler added.
