Odom, a veteran position assistant, spent the past season coaching linebackers at North Texas. He was promoted to interim defensive coordinator after UNT coach Eric Morris fired defensive coordinator Matt Caponi on Nov. 16.

Before joining North Texas for the 2024 season, Odom spent five years as part of Lincoln Riley's staffs at USC and Oklahoma.
