Fire crews will conduct a prescribed burn Thursday in the Gaynor Lake area which is south of Longmont, near Oxford Road and U.S. 287.
According to a new release, the project will focus on the ditch west of the lake and is being implemented to improve water conveyance for agricultural purposes. Officials said that smoke and flames may be visible for up to 72 hours after a controlled burn and asked residents to not call 911.
The areas will be monitored to ensure fires are completely out, according to the release. For any questions or concerns, email [email protected].
