Creighton collected 13 hits in winning the nightcap 9-6 over Drake on Tuesday at the CU Softball Complex. Drake won the opener 5-3.

Creighton (11-9) broke a 2-2 tie in the third inning and pulled away with a four-run fourth.

Lily West had an RBI double in the third and capped the fourth with an RBI single. Ashten Pierson had a two-run single in the fourth, while Hannah Poole homered in the fifth.

In the opener, Drake never trailed as Molly Hoekst threw a seven-hitter for the Bulldogs.

CU tied it 2-2 in the second, getting RBI singles from Avery Barnard and Pierson. Drake then grabbed a 5-2 lead before the Jays put together their best threat in the sixth.

Poole reached on a two-out infield single to score Kenzie Nakasawa and CU had runners at the corners. Pierson, who had four hits on the day, then hit a line drive that was snared by shortstop Frankie Rita to end the threat.

CU returns to Big East play Friday at Villanova.
