Families get up close and personal with bees at special event

Families enjoyed a unique opportunity to get up close with bees at a special event.

Milton Park hosted the Meet the Bees event for families and occupiers on Thursday, August 28, providing an engaging experience with the park's resident honeybees.

Guided by the on-site beekeeper, the event welcomed attendees aged five and above, offering them a chance to discover the bees' vital role in the environment.

After a safety briefing, participants donned protective bee suits and visited one of the park's beehives to learn about the insects.

Attendees also tasted the bees' honey and met the hive's queen bee, marked with blue for 2025.

The session was organised by the park's team, Nurture Landscapes, who manage the park's green spaces.
