Want to find out your favorite music of the year? Spotify Wrapped has you covered.
If you're wondering when your social media will be flooded with stories and posts about everyone's musical tastes via Spotify Wrapped, the answer is that no one knows.
The music streaming service has yet to announce when its 2024 Wrapped will drop, but it will probably be soon. In past years, Spotify Wrapped has been released as early as Nov. 29 and as late as Dec. 6.
Spotify Wrapped isn't the first instance of a company trying to find a cool and interesting way to present data to its users, but it's probably been the most successful thanks to its very personal and very shareable nature.
Of course, not everyone is a Spotify subscriber, either. Competing audio streaming services like YouTube Music and Apple Music have come up with their own year-in-review versions.
Music stats are fun to look at, but they're certainly not the only year-in-review data people have been interested in over the years. Google publishes its lists of top searches throughout the year to similar fanfare.
If you're a Redditor, you've probably balked at your Reddit Recap, and if you're into learning new languages, you might be interested in Duolingo's Year in Review.
If history is any indicator, there's a good chance that Spotify Wrapped 2024 will drop on Dec. 4 or Dec. 5.
While there's no true rhyme or reason regarding when Spotify will release its recap, the company has historically launched it on the last Wednesday in November or the first Wednesday or Thursday of December.
While many companies make their users dig for their recaps, Spotify makes sure to hit you over the head with it. You'll typically see something about Spotify Wrapped when you open your app for the first time after it has been released, assuming your app is updated.
If you don't see it, or you want to take a look at your past wraps, just type "wrapped" in the search bar at the top of the app. You'll find "Your Top Songs x," where x will be whichever years are applicable to you.
Admittedly, the search results can be a little confusing because they lump the wraps together with other songs and playlists. You can make sure it's the right one by looking for the "Made for you" tag underneath the playlist.
When does Apple Music Replay come out?
Apple Replay came out on Tuesday. To check out your replay, you can head over to replay.music.apple.com and log into your account. You can also view it through the app on your iPhone or iPad by opening the Music app and navigating to the "Home" tab. Scroll down to "Replay: Your Top Songs by Year." You can even listen to your stats by tapping "Listen Back."
This year's replay includes how many minutes of music you listened to on the service, what genres you listened to and how many artists. Like Spotify Wrapped, it also tells people if they are a super fan of an artist and when they crossed listening milestones for the year.
When does YouTube Music Recap come out?
Alphabet released the YouTube Music Recap on Nov. 25. To find your recap, you'll need to open the app and tap on your profile photo in the top right, then tap "Get your Recap." From there, you can download and share the stories on your social media platform of choice.
Podcasts have been added to the Music Recap this year. Two new cards will show off your top podcast of the year and give a rundown of your top 5 podcasts. Pro tip: Linking your Google Photos to YouTube Music will improve the quality of the photos in the recap.
When does Duolingo Year in Review come out?
Duolingo power users have probably already seen their 2024 Year in Reviews, as the app makes it nearly impossible to miss, but if it's been a while since you've logged in, you've probably gotten an email about it.
To find your Duolingo 2024 Year in Review, open the app. You'll immediately be shown a pop-up with a bit about your usage and a button that says "see year in review." Click on that button and you'll be taken straight to the page.
If you clicked "not now" and can't find the review, tap the "Profile" button and select the "See Year in Review" option, then select "Start."
When does Fitbit Year in Review come out?
FitBit users hoping to see their Year in Review before the end of the year might be a little disappointed as the company typically doesn't send out its recap until January.
When does Google's Year in Search come out?
Google's Year in Search is an annual highlight that is more of a reflection of the year than perhaps any other recap. Though it's not personalized, it does an excellent job of highlighting some of the biggest celebrations and even saddest tragedies from the past 12 months.
Google's Year in Search for 2024 isn't out yet, but you can probably expect to see it within the next week or two. Last year's review was published on Dec. 11, and 2022's was published on Dec. 7.
If you find Google's Year in Search fascinating, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for other insights the search giant writes up afterward. It will often recap the biggest moments, and biggest stories and even provide some end-of-the-year tips in follow-up blog posts.
Last year even came with a Where's Waldo-style game that tasked users with finding the top 25 trends in an interactive image.
Why can't I see my Spotify Wrapped, recap, etc?
The first issue is that the recap might not be available just yet. If you're not sure, you can look above to find the app and see if the recap is available. If it is available and you still can't find it, you'll likely need to update your app.
Make sure your app is updated
You'll want to make sure you have the most recent version of the app associated with the recap you're looking for.
If you're on iOS:
Visit the App Store and tap on your profile icon, located in the top right corner. Scroll down to see pending updates and tap "update." You can then scroll down to find the app you're looking for and click on "update" next to that app. If you see multiple apps that need update, you should probably click "update all."
Alternatively, you can search for the app in question in the search bar to be taken to its app page. If the app isn't updated, the button will say "update,"; otherwise, it will say "open."
If you're on Android:
Visit the Play store and tap on your profile icon, also located in the top right corner. From there, tap "manage apps & device." If you have updates available, you'll see "updates available" with the number of pending updates underneath it. You should probably click "update all," but if you only want to update one app, tap "updates available." In the new page, tap "update" next to the app you want to update.
Or you can search for the app in question in the search bar to be taken to its app page. If the app isn't updated, the button will say "update,"; otherwise, it will say "open."
