Caitlin McHugh Stamos on Why She and John Stopped Trying for Baby No. 2
90 Day Fiancé season 11 is bringing the heat! With K-1 visas, come major decisions, and fans have a front row seat to six brand-new couples as they navigate their overseas romances. Episode 2 saw one cast member as they embarked on a flight to the United States, facing the possibility of never returning to their home country. Meanwhile, another couple may finally be in the same zip code, only to realize their problems are just beginning.
Stevi was preparing for Mahdi's arrival in Mississippi and was concerned that he wouldn't be happy living with her due to her quirks that included night terrors, frequent naps and not wearing pants at home.
Mahdi was en route to nearby New Orleans and Stevi was feeling a lot of guilt because she said the Iran native "probably won't ever be able to go back to his home country."
"I'm just very hopeful that what we had for that week in Turkey will translate when he's here in the United States," she told producers in a confessional. "Because I don't know what we'll do if it doesn't."
The pair had a warm reunion at the airport, but Mahdi admitted his parents were "not feeling good" about his departure to the United States.
"I hope I can get back and see them, but there's like, high risk that I cannot ever go back," he anxiously told the cameras.
After spending the night at a hotel and being impressed by the nightlife, the gravity of his overseas move began to weigh heavily on Mahdi.
"I was really excited about coming to the U.S. and living with Stevi. By the time that I got to the airport, and I saw my parents crying, this is the moment that I feel like, 'What I have done,'" he explained. "I don't know when would be the next time or where would be the next time that I will see my family. What I have heard before is that there is always a risk for Iranians who come to the U.S. to go back to Iran and get arrested."
Mahdi then asked Stevi, "If one day I want to go back to my country and there is a chance that they won't let me exit the country anymore, would you like me to do that?" Stevi said she would not stop him.
Shekinah Garner and Sarper Güven were eagerly awaiting the results following the Turkey native's visa interview. Sarper looked disappointed and told Shekinah that they "didn't permit me."
"They said it will be unfair to let you in for American guys because I'm too handsome. And I said, I assure you, I am taken. I am approved," he joked as they embraced in celebration.
Although Sarper was overjoyed with the news, he was worried about telling his family. "The worst scenario can be if they say don't go. I don't know what to do then," he admitted.
The personal trainer set up a meeting with his family to discuss his visa news. Sarper's main concern was his elderly parents who had health issues and he was worried about not being able to visit for a while.
During the meeting, Sarper told his family that he had 90 days in America to figure out what he wanted to do and told them to think of it like a "vacation for three months." In addition, he also told them that they would not be able to travel to the States for their wedding if he and Shekinah did get married.
Gregory "Greg" Chillak, a 35-year-old baker from Long Island, and his romance with Ugandan beauty Joan Kruchov was introduced for the first time during episode 2.
The Long Island native opened up about his passion for food and told viewers that he used to weigh 480 pounds before losing 200 pounds between 2017 and 2019. "I couldn't even tie my shoes at one point, it was so bad," he explained. "And seeing that every day finally just pushed me to the point where I wanted to lose weight and just get rid of this and feel better."
Greg explained how he met Joan by chance after falling asleep on a man's shoulder while on an airplane. "He turned out to be from Uganda, East Africa. He owns a safari company and after talking to him for six and a half hours straight, he actually ended up inviting me to Uganda," said the 90 Day Fiancé newbie. "I checked into the guest house, and I saw Joan within my first hour and a half of being there in Uganda."
Joan later found him on social media and the rest was history. Greg returned to Uganda and proposed to her on her birthday.
Although Greg asked Joan to be his wife, the baker still lived with his mother. Greg's mother worried her son was being "naive" and that Joan was possibly taking advantage of Greg due to him being "very generous and caring." In addition, she asked Greg to consider separate rooms with Joan until they made it down the aisle.
Aminata "Mina" Mack finally arrived in America from Paris with her young daughter, Maria. Mina was extremely sad to be leaving her son, Clayton, behind but promised they would soon be reunited in the United States.
Mina was introduced to her new home in New Hampshire and wasn't impressed with the new digs. She immediately called out Mark Bessette for having a photo of his ex-wife hung up in his home. Mark said it was a family photo and promised to make changes to the "bachelor pad" to make it more "Parisian."
"Seeing the house, there are tons of things I need to change," she said in a private confessional, translated from French. "A house of a single man and I need to change practically everything."
The France native was visibly displeased with her new home in the suburbs and quickly brought up the idea of moving to the city. She promised the pilot that she would give the new living arrangement "six months" before she pushed for changes.
"This was one of my biggest concerns," Mark said about Mina's not liking her new home. "You know, I know Mina can be a little hard to please, but I also expected her to be a little bit excited and open, and lease give this house in New Hampshire a try."
Juan David Daza reunited with his family in the United States and the family of five stayed in a hotel before making the trek to Wyoming from the airport. The Colombia native admitted he wasn't "feeling overwhelmed yet" about being the father of three young boys and thought it was a "good sign" that they felt comfortable around him.
"When I was a kid, I had a great life when my father was alive, but when he passed away at my age of eight years old, everything changed for us," he told the cameras. "Now the good life was over and my brother having to go find money and work and my mother too, taking care of me at the time. And then I had to learn everything by myself. not having a dad to teach me stuff. It was hard for a kid."
He said those experiences motivated him to be a good father and stepfather.
With the entire family staying in the same room, Juan and fiancée, Jessica Parsons, didn't get the private time they wanted after spending months apart.
"So, I thought my first night in America was going to have a little bit more privacy with Jessica and with the kids in the same room, but that didn't happen," the cruise ship employee said. "It was more like a fatherhood night."
On the way home, Juan was surprised at how small and desolate the drive was on their way home. The surprises only continued as Juan was surprised to learn that his and Jessica's bedroom didn't have a door.
"As a parent, which you'll soon learn, you know, there's just not a ton of privacy," Jessica said. "It's part of being a parent."
