(FOX40.COM) -- A local Northern California store has announced that it is lowering its gas prices in the spirit of Thanksgiving and the holiday season.

Ernie's General Store, located at 4407 East Waterloo Road, dropped its gas prices to $3.59 for a regular gallon of gas, the lowest in the region, according to the owner, Ernest Giannecchini.

Meanwhile, AAA reports that the California national average for a gallon of gas is $4.59, while the national average is $3.05.

Giannecchini also said the price drop is a form of saying thank you to the loyal customers.
