NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers For Wednesday, January 29

NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers For Wednesday, January 29

Wondering what types of bulbs are often used in Christmas lights? Not sure what a breakaway religious group might be? Don't worry, because I'm here to help you with the answers for today's NYT Mini crossword.

The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper's larger and long-running crossword. Most days, there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five by five grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays.

Unlike its larger sibling, the NYT Mini crossword is free to play on the New York Times website or NYT Games app. However, you'll need an NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives.

To help you avoid getting stuck and having to reveal missing letters, here are the NYT Mini Crossword answers for Wednesday, January 29 (spoilers lie ahead, of course):

1 Across: Type of bulb in many Christmas lights, for short -- LED

I didn't have too much trouble here, save for some hesitation about LED and SECTS on the Across side. ERODE was the only word I missed there the first time around.

I probably would have finished the grid much faster if I hadn't erupted into a fit of giggles when I got to 3 Down -- "Illusionists might cut them in half" -- and there was only one missing letter, so I had to fill in the blank in D-CKS. Sometimes, the juvenile part of my brain completely takes over.

P.S. Apologies for the lack of a clues and answers column yesterday. I definitely did not completely forget about it. See you tomorrow!
