Team Cherry has kept fans guessing since the Hollow Knight: Silksong announcement in 2019. While the developer finally revealed a September 4th release date at Gamescom, it didn't share pre-order details. However, GameStop has now listed the digital Switch version for $19.99. Assuming it's not an error, the latest Silksong news will delight fans of the anticipated Metroidvania title.
When Hollow Knight debuted in 2017, it carried a reasonable $14.99 price. Team Cherry had already conducted a successful Kickstarter campaign, surpassing its donation goals. As a result, a Silksong price of $5 more may not seem as shocking. Still, the sequel has a much larger scope with added bosses, more environments to explore, and crafting mechanics. Despite an extended development cycle, it appears the indie studio was able to keep its expenses reasonable.
