The deal includes a hefty loan fee and in addition a purchase option, which according to various media reports could become a requirement upon reaching a minimum number of appearances.

No wonder then, that the Jackson transfer was on the brink of failure the day before the deadline and almost didn't happen. To be prepared for this case, Bayern apparently also turned to Manchester United flop Antony.
