President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin provided an update Friday on Ukraine-Russia peace talks.
Trump announced on Truth Social last week that he will meet with Putin in Alaska to continue his push for a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. During a press conference at the Alaska summit, Trump said there is "no deal until there's a deal."
Putin also spoke and claimed that "an agreement was reached." The comments suggested negotiations remain in progress, with neither leader offering additional details on the terms discussed.
Trump announced in May that negotiations would begin following a two-hour call with Putin. Despite Trump's push for peace, Putin remained hesitant to engage with Ukraine.
