Hisar: At Rajasthan's world-famous Pushkar Fair -- the country's biggest and most celebrated livestock show -- a Murrah breed bull from Haryana stole the limelight. Kuber, owned by farmer Vikas Bhambhu of Nadhori village in Fatehabad district, took first prize in his category, with the owner claiming that buyers offered him up to ₹21 crore for the prized animal. Talking to TOI on returning home, Bhambhu said he did not take any offers. "Kuber is a diamond whose real worth only a true connoisseur can know," he said.Bhambhu said he was courted by many buyers after his bull took the first prize. "The first offer of Rs 11 crore soon rose to Rs 21 crore, but I refused," he said. Kuber, aged three and a half years, stands 5.5 feet tall. His mother produces 23.5 litres of milk daily and earlier won a district-level competition organised by the animal husbandry department. The Rajasthan animal husbandry department has honoured both Kuber and Bhambhu, who farms on ten acres and rears cattle. He now plans to preserve Kuber's semen and sell it to breeders at affordable rates. He expects a monthly income in lakhs, while also contributing to the genetic improvement of the Murrah breed. The farmer said he received numerous inquiries from Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan for semen bookings and will soon consult scientists at the Central Institute of Research on Buffaloes, Hisar. Kuber's daily diet includes oilseed cake, cottonseed, gram, and occasionally milk and ghee, which Bhambhu says keeps him healthy and strong. The valuation of Kuber comes shortly after the death of Haryana's most famous Murrah bull, Yuvraj of Kurukshetra, worth Rs 9 crore, who died nine days ago at the age of 23. Yuvraj was a 29-time champion at national and state-level fairs and reportedly fathered around two lakh calves, earning his owner about Rs 80 lakh annually. At the Pushkar fair, visitors and breeders were seen taking selfies with Kuber, many hailing him as the new Yuvraj of Haryana for his size, breed quality, and record valuation.Caption of photo: Cattle breeders and tourists who came to the cattle fair taking photos with Vikas Bhambhu's bull Kuber.
