As Valentine's Day approaches, New Englanders have access to some of the most romantic restaurants in America.

OpenTable, an online restaurant reservation service company, recently released a list of the 100 most romantic restaurants in America for 2025 and seven New England restaurants made the list. They are:

The New England picks are historic, serve locally inspired cuisine, and offer incredible views and ambiance.

Guests at Earth at Hidden Pond enjoy a farm-to-table menu at a wooded spot that has "brought the outdoors in." Italian restaurant Ristorante Massimo is located in historic downtown Portsmouth and offers an upstairs wine bar as well as a formal main dining room.

Diners at Boat House Waterfront Dining enjoy locally inspired cuisine with panoramic bayside views from a bluff over the foot of Mt. Hope Bay. The 1673 White Horse Tavern in Newport, a National Historic Landmark with giant beams and fireplaces, serves local cuisine and "exudes colonial charm."

At Simon Pearce Restaurant, guests dine on American cuisine made with fresh local ingredients and enjoy a view of the Ottauquechee River waterfall and covered bridge.

J. Gilbert's Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood has a warm atmosphere and is billed as "one of Glastonbury's finest hidden gems," and at Millwright's Restaurant, folks experience farm-fresh food in a dining room, enclosed bridge, and tavern.

The most romantic restaurants list was comprised by analyzing more than 10 million U.S. diner reviews collected between Dec. 1, 2023 and Nov. 30, 2024, which were scored based on diner ratings, the percentage of five star reviews, the number of alerts set, the percentage of reservations made in advance, and more.
