Luka Doncic battled through an injury during the Dallas Mavericks' win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night, and he is now going to miss some time.

Doncic has been diagnosed with a right wrist strain, ESPN's Shams Charania reports. The five-time All-Star will be reevaluated in a week, which means he will miss at least the Mavericks' next four games.

Doncic finished with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the Mavs' 132-91 win over the Pelicans at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. He admitted after the game that he began feeling some discomfort in the first quarter, but Doncic said the issue was "nothing serious."

Doncic was held out of Sunday's game against Oklahoma City Thunder with a right knee injury, so that may also be a factor in why Dallas has chosen to shut him down for a week.

Through 14 games, Doncic is 28.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.6 assists. The Mavericks are 8-7 after winning their last three games. Even if Doncic's wrist injury is nothing serious, it is hardly a surprise that Dallas wants to be cautious this early in the year.
