SHREVEPORT, La. - Santa usually travels on a sleigh, but today Santa made a stop at Shriners Children's Hospital on a fire truck.

It was all a part of Operation Santa Claus Barney Cannon's Smile Run.

Santa makes an annual visit to the hospital where he greets the kids and gives them gifts for Christmas.

The tradition has been going on for 40 years and it's thanks to Barney Cannon, a former DJ and producer.

Barney Cannon's Smile Run first started back in 1984.
