The International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) is a regulation pact which grants executive authority over emergencies during peace-time. The IEEPA permits the president to deal with unusual and extraordinary threats to national security by reforming the economic policies of the United States.

My question is wouldn't there be some kind of Congressional pushback to prove this is an extraordinary threat to national security? Our leaders seem to be watching the destruction of our government, the dismantling of our economy, and what would be called a coup should this be happening in any other country. Does anyone know how the IEEPA actually works?
