Benson Boone is making his American Music Awards debut in a big way. The first-time AMA nominee took the stage during the 2025 ceremony to perform his latest single, "Mystical Magical."
To the surprise of no one, Boone showed off his signature backflip during his performance, delighting the crowd and viewers at home.
"Mystical Magical" is the second single off of Boone's forthcoming album, American Heart. He previously released "Sorry I'm Here for Someone Else" off of the LP, which is due out June 20.
Boone isn't the only big performer of the night. Host Jennifer Lopez, Icon Award recipient Janet Jackson, and Lifetime Achievement Award honoree Rod Stewart will also take the stage.
In addition to the night's host and special award recipients, Blake Shelton, Gloria Estefan, Gwen Stefani, Lainey Wilson, and Reneé Rapp are also scheduled to perform.
At the 2025 ceremony, Boone is up for five awards: New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Favorite Music Video, Favorite Male Pop Artist, and Favorite Pop Song.
Boone has some big competition in his categories. This year, Kendrick Lamar leads the nominees with 10 nods. Post Malone is close behind with eight nominations. Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey each earned seven nods a piece.
Since the ceremony is taking place on Memorial Day, the show will pay tribute to U.S. troops and veterans. It will do so through authentic performances and unforgettable moments.
Additionally, the AMAs have partnered with Easy Day Foundation to present several special in-show moments that celebrate Veterans while raising funds for a variety of national and local organizations.
The 2025 American Music Awards will air live coast to coast on Monday, May 26 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT on the CBS Television Network, and stream on Paramount+ in the U.S.
